First Gathering Planned for Dominican Young
Adults USA
AMITYVILLE,
NY – November 27, 2006 --Gina Fleming, OP, Youth Promoter for
the Amityville Dominicans announced recently the first gathering of
Dominican Young Adults USA. The meeting will take place July 19-22,
2007 at Ohio Dominican University, Columbus, OH. The meeting will be
the first of its kind in the USA.

800th anniversary tour of northern Spain and southern France to mark
the life of St. Vincent Ferrer. The trip will include a visit to Valencia

Columbus Dominican Wins Mother Theresa Award
Sister Thoma Swanson of St. Mary of the Springs has taught high-school
and college students in America for decades and has helped Peruvian
artisans escape poverty. But it was her artwork, including stained-glass
windows, that earned one of this year’s Mother Teresa Awards,
presented by the St. Bernadette Institute of Sacred Art in Albuquerque,
N.M.

on the latest magician's mystery: The Prestige. The film centers
on the rivalry between two magicians in 1890’s London: Robert
Angier, (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale). Angier blames
Borden for the death of his wife in a magic trick, when the two were
working together. They go their separate ways, becoming bitter rivals.
Each tries to win fame, while outdoing the other.

to fund the renovation of the basilica of the Monastery of Our Lady
of Prouilhe, France.To date, In the USA, the collections has grown to
$6,039.26 which is €4710.15. Madeline Tacy, OP (Hope) who has been
leading the Pennies for Prouilhe project, would
like to be able to send €5,000 which is $6410.70 meaning the collection
is $371.44 short.
