About Our Mission:
inform | promote | inspire

Dominican Life | USA is an online news magazine that informs readers of news and activities of Dominican friars, sisters, nuns, laity and associates in the United States,  promotes the preaching charism of the Order and inspires action on behalf of justice and peace.

Who We Are
DLClogo
Dominican Life | USA is sponsored by the Dominican Leadership Conference, the networking organization of elected leaders of Dominican men and women in the United States. The mission of DLC is to build relationships and colloboration in the mission of preaching the Gospel. Over 25 congregations of sisters and four provinces of men make up the DLC.

The Dominican Communicators Network (OPCOMNET), the communications arm of the DLC, is the primary source of news and features that appear on DomLife.org. The Editorial Board offers input and advise on the site's content and direction.

Why we need your support

Although DLC member congregations and provinces contribute signficantly to the operating income of DomLife.org, this money does not fully cover the toal costs. That's where your help comes in. Your contributions help to fill gaps in our operating income so that we can cover the news, write the stories and maintain the electronic media that give you access to information and stimulating Dominican resources. Our annual appeal is your opportunity to support the site and help us grow. The appeal is only once a year, so please take the time now to download the easy to use form and complete your donation today.

History

Dominican Life | USA (DomLife.org) began in 2002 by a Dominican friar in St. Albert Province in response to the Master of the Order’s call for Dominicans to place electronic media at the service of the preaching mission. This was part of a much larger commitment by members of the province to explore and pursue electronic preaching. In May 2005, the Dominican Leadership Conference Communications Coordinator took up the task of updating the pages and in October, the DLC membership made a commitment to sponsor the site.

A complete site renovation was launched in May of 2006 which includes a free email subscription update with over 3,000 subscribers. In twelve months (2006-2007) DomLife.org had over 4 million hits. The average reader spends about 20 minutes on its pages.

The operating costs of the site are partly covered by donations by DLC member congregations and provinces, from service fees and your donations. Join them and help keep DomLife.org alive and well.
