Does Anybody Have $371.44?

PROUILHE, FRANCE - November 27, 2006 - Many Dominicans around the world are helping to fund the renovation of the basilica of the Monastery of Our Lady of Prouilhe, France. To date, In the USA, the collections has grown to $6,039.26 which is €4710.15. Madeline Tacy, OP (Hope) who has been leading the Pennies for Prouilhe project, would like to be able to send €5,000 which is $6410.70 meaning the collection is $371.44 short.

The donations which have come in have been large and small. Some are actually from saving pennies while others are simple a flat donation. At present the Domincian Nuns at Prouilhe are awaiting the approval of necessary permits to begin renovation. The recently available history of Sainte-Marie de Prouilhe contains a picture of what is planned for the basilica. Anyone who has been there will see the difference between what is there and what is planned for the future.

Thank you to all of the individuals and communities who sent a donation for the Pennies Project. The request here is to remind anyone who is interested that there is still time to help. The small amount $371.44 is certainly within reach. This is a way for us to be part of the restoration and preservation of our common Dominican heritage.
