The mission program is sponsored by 20 congregations of Dominican sisters and friars in the United States. ADRIAN, MI --Sister Mary Elizabeth Beres, OP, 66, died on August 12, 2008, at her home in Clarkston, Georgia. She was in the 46th year of her religious profession in the Adrian Dominican Congregation. Mary-beth was the Chapter Prioress of the Mid-Atlantic Mission Chapter and member of DLC. READ MORE

Sister Mary Timothy McHatten, OP (Roman)

Scripture scholar and teacher Sr. Mary Timothy McHatten, OP (Roman) 76, died July 25 in Maine after a short illness. Since 1989 she had been a Professor of Scripture at Mount Angel Seminary and had made her home in St. Benedict, Oregon.

SINSINAWA, WI -- On August 21, the closing session of the diocesan process regarding the beatification of Venerable Samuel Mazzuchelli, OP, took place at Sinsinawa Mound. This ceremony marked the closing of the Madison diocesan process of inquiry into the possible miracle obtained through the intercession of Venerable Samuel Mazzuchelli, OP, founder of the Dominican Sisters of Sinsinawa.
