Parable Conference Celebrates Double Anniversary

RIVER FOREST, IL September 18, 2006--The Parable Conference Board of Directors and staff took time out from their busy Board Meeting, September 8-9, to celebrate the 800th anniversary of Dominican History (1206-2006) and Parable Conference’s 30 years of ministry with the family in the US (1976-2006). Center stage was a beautiful and scrumptious homemade anniversary cake made by Tony Butler from Dominican Volunteers USA, specially decorated with the Dominican shield.

The Board also welcomed 4 new members: Carole Nugent, Grand Rapids Associate, Jennifer Schaaf, Columbus Associate, Jane Brown, Great Bend Associate, and Cassian Lewinsky, Western Province friars. Each member is blessed with a wealth of talent, enthusiasm, and passion for Dominican life and all are eager to lend their expertise in service to the Dominican family.

Board President, Colleen Brady, Sinsinawa Associate, guided the Board through a packed agenda around issues of programming, marketing, and development. While celebrating Parable Conference’s tremendous accomplishments over the past year—logo design, website and online services, new programs, new relationships and collaborators—the Board re-committed to taking on the challenges of continued growth and renewal.
