Growing Drug Violence in Juarez Begs for US/Mexican Talks

JuarezJUAREZ, MEXICO -- May 1, 2009-- In 2008, a civilian in Juarez had a greater chance of being killed in Juarez, than they did in Baghdad. Sister Donna Kustusch, OP, who runs Centro Santa Catalina a safe Haven for Women and Children in Juarez, is featured in a video on the New York Times website. The story describes the current escalation of violence in Mexico.

Many are horribly injured and find their way to the Shelter of Jesus the Good Shepherd. Northeast Dominicans Explore New Ministries

Ministry FairSPARKILL, NY - May 1, 2009-- The NorthEast Dominicans sponsored a collaborative Ministry Fair on March 28th in Sparkill.  The program gave sisters in the area an opportunity to hear about new opportunities for service in full-time, part-time and volunteer ministry.
