Dominican Associate Directors and Liaisons Meet

NISKAYUNA, NY -- December 17, 2007 --The Dominican Sisters of St. Catherine de’ Ricci hosted the annual meeting of the Dominican Associate Directors and Liaisons of the US at their Dominican Retreat & Conference Center in Niskayuna, New York the weekend of November 2-4, 2007.  The group had lively discussions about many topics including: plans for the upcoming Voices of Hope / Federation of Dominican Sisters USA National Convocation in April 2008; creating a “speakers bureau” of associates including topics on which they are able to present and preaching abilities; and various fundraising ideas being used by congregations.

The group also decided to honor Lorena Bolte, OP, late prioress of the Great Bend Dominicans and former Dominican Alliance Liaison to Associates, by purchasing a tree in her memory to be placed on the grounds of the motherhouse in Great Bend.

The common response from members of the group at the end of the weekend was “It’s great to know that we have so much support as we all work toward the same goal:  continuing the Dominican Mission with our Associates!”
