Las Casas Ministry Grant
Guidelines
Purpose of Grant Program:
To provide financial assistance to Dominicans walking and ministering with Native Americans.
Who can apply?
A member of the Dominican Family in ministry with Native Americans
in the United States.
Guidelines for grant fund consideration:
Minister/Project:
- Seeks justice
in lives of Native Americans.
- Affirms Native American culture and religion.
- Demonstrates
financial need for this project.
- Works toward
self-determination of Native People.
- Benefits a significant
number of Native People either directly or indirectly.
- Demonstrates
just and effective management practices.
- Has 501.c.3
status. Proof may be requested.
- Is willing to
collaborate with others in similar projects, programs or endeavors.
- Serves a designated/identified,
yet unmet need.
- Reflects funding for a
program/project/experience or cost for effort beyond those already
existing.
- Agrees to write summary
story and provide photos (with release permission) of the project
and its connection to Native Americans (200 – 300 words)
to be shared with the Dominican Family.
Other pertinent facts:
- Funds are
granted on a one-year basis and are not necessarily renewable.
- Grant is
to assist in temporary or special situations.
- One application
may be submitted per year per Dominican.
- Application
must be completed in its entirety with responses confined to
the space on the form.
- Accountability
form is required at the end of the grant year. No new
grant requests will be accepted until this is received.
- Amount of
request not to exceed $1,000.
- Application
must be postmarked by March 1. Late applications will
not be considered.
- A response
will be sent from the Las Casas Board in May.
