Vatican Initiates Study of US Catholic Sisters’ Institutes

WASHINGTON, D.C.—The Vatican’s Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Apostolic Life recently announced an Apostolic Visitation or comprehensive study of institutes of women religious in the United States.Very little is known about the study at the present time, but it will be under the direction of Mother Mary Clare Millea, ASCJ, superior general of the Apostles of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, an international religious institute headquartered in Rome. Abraham Lincoln and the Dominican Sisters of Springfield

Former St. Mary's Dominican High School Graduate Named to Obama Administration

NEW ORLEANS, LA - St. Mary Dominican High School has a connection to the administration of President Barack Obama. Lisa Perez Jackson, class of 1979, was named by President Barack Obama to head the Environmental Protection Agency. Her appointment was confirmed January 22, 2009.
