Conference Overview
Goals of the Conference
- The participants will explore the significance and meaning
of the Word in their lives.
- The participants will be introduced to the foundations and
characteristics of Dominican preaching.
- The participants will be actively engaged in prayer and preaching
events that will model creative ways to make preaching a living
dynamic in their daily lives.
- By recognizing how they preach in their own daily lives, the
participants will then empower others to preach.
Agenda Overview (detailed agenda upon arrival)
The conference will begin on Monday, June23rd.
Registration will be 2-5:00p.m. followed by dinner,
introduction of schools, and opening ritual.
Each morning will begin with prayer and preaching. Eucharist will
be celebrated on Tuesday, June 24th and again at the closing of
the conference on June 28th.

Each day will close with shared reflection and prayer.
Keynote presentations followed by workshop experiences will focus
on the following themes:
Tuesday, June 24th: “Preaching
in the Dominican Tradition”
Wednesday, June 25th: “Preaching
and the Signs of Our Times”
Thursday, June 26th: “Dominican
Preaching In Action”
Friday, June 27th: “Preaching
Through the Creative Arts”
Saturday, June 28th: “Our
Call to Preach the Good News”
Participants will be divided into “home groups” during
the week. Each of these groups will have a Dominican mentor.
Recreational activities/community building will be integral parts
of the schedule for each day.
The conference will conclude after lunch (1:00p.m.) on
Saturday, June 28th.
*Students may receive theology/religion credit as deemed
appropriate
by each of the participating schools. All participants
will be awarded a
Certificate of Attendance at the conclusion of
the conference.
