Houston Dominicans
Transfer of leadership celebrated June 6

The 2010–2016 leadership team for the Houston Dominicans.
Prioress: Carol Mayes, OP; Vicaress: Antoinette “Kitty” Carter, OP;
Councilors: Julie Marie Greig, OP and Pat Casey, OP.

On Sunday, June 6, 2010, the Dominican Sisters of Houston celebrated the transfer of leadership for their congregation. Archbishop Joseph Fiorenza presided at the Mass. The celebration was continued with a reception at the Sisters’ Villa. Approximately 300 guests attended. The congregation affirmed Sr. Carol Mayes, O.P. as Prioress to lead the order for a six year term. Other members of the council are Vicaress Sr. Antoinette “Kitty” Carter, O.P., and council members Sr. Julie Marie Greig, O.P. and Sr. Pat Casey, O.P. During the ceremony, members of the Houston Dominican Sisters blessed their new leadership. The reception was hosted by the commissioned members of the Dominican Family, a newly formed lay organization to help perpetuate the Dominican charism and to assist the Sisters in their ministry.
