Dominican Sisters Conference
New executive director appointed

We are happy to announce the selection of Sr. Mary Sue Kennedy, OP as Executive Director of the newly formed Dominican Sisters Conference.

Sister Mary Sue, a Dominican Sister of Adrian, Michigan, has varied ministry experiences. Her recent service includes: chapter prioress in her Adrian congregation; vicar for religious for the Diocese of Toledo; parish director of religious education; co-director of Campus Ministry at Emory University; and director of Adrian’s Weber Center. Mary Sue has skills in facilitation and grant writing, as well as organizing major events. She is well suited for this new position within our Dominican family. She will begin her ministry on Oct. 1, 2010.

The executive director will serve the new conference with a Coordinating Committee composed of three sisters elected from membership: Sister Michaela Connolly (Blauvelt), Sr. Mary Virginia Leach (Mission San Jose), and Sr. Rose Celeste O’ Connell (Adrian), and three sisters to be elected from congregational leadership at the October DLC meeting.

We wish Sister Mary Sue many blessings as she leads the Dominican Sisters Conference and works closely with the Coordinating Committee for the sake of our Dominican life and mission.
