Search Begins for New DSI Coordinator

Sr. Gemma Doll, a member of the Coordinating Council of DSI, is chairing the search for the next DSI International Coordinator. She said: “We want to have as full a consultation as possible so that every Prioress has a way to influence the outcome of this search.”

The outgoing International Coordinator, Margaret Ormond has served for nine years, the maximum according to the DSI statutes. In order to quality for this position, the new person must have served as either a Prioress General or a General Councilor of her congregation, be fluent in two European languages and willing to administer the DSI office at Santa Sabina in Rome, Italy. The deadline for these nominees is November 10, 2006. After that time, sr. Gemma will contact the nominees to ask about their willingness to serve and their Prioresses to see if they are willing to have this sister serve. After this discernment, three candidates will be presented to the Fifth General Assembly of DSI in Rome in May, 2007 and this group will make the final selection. Please join with us as we together search for this new person to carry on the vital service to the Order and the Church.
